First, I need to admit that I didn't knit the March project for our Simple Knits Knitalong - I'm totally hanging my head in shame. I had yarn ready, but time ran out with various life scenarios taking over, but this has has left me with some ideas for later in the year - sorry, you'll have to wait and see. *wink* However, I am happy to report that we had not one, BUT two Clayoquot Toque classes at Firefly Fibers and everyone did an amazing job! Hats off (pun intended) to all of my fabulous students and congratulations on your first Fair Isle adventure!
So... what are we going to knit in April? Well, it's one of my all time favorite fingerless mitts from one of my all time favorite designers - Rathtrevor by Jane Richmond!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these mitts! I've knit 2 pair and I'm anxious to knit another this month with you! To be perfectly honest, I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of Jane's designs and I'm excited that she's working on another sweater now. Okay, back to our knitalong...
Aren't these mitts fabulous?
So... if you don't have the pattern, we carry Island at the shop (includes the eBook), the individual pattern PDF and full eBook are available on Ravelry, or you can pick up a print copy on Amazon:
And... what about yarn options? Well, I can tell you that I have several of our shop yarns in mind: SweetGeorgia Superwash DK, Julie Asselin Leizu DK, Malabrigo Silky Merino, Fibre Co Acadia, or Misti Alpaca Tonos (I've used this for a previous pair and I love them). Yeah, there are just a few options, but I think I have my mind made up. Probably...
Thanks again for knitting along and remember, you can join at anytime and you can knit as many or as few projects as you like. I'll be drawing for winners for our Spring Giveaway in just a few days, so stay tuned...
Cheers!
